Revoltamp: Timeline & Milestone Update

From concept to creation, our journey to MVP has been remarkable.

June 2025 : Functional Prototype Live ✅

  • First fully integrated Revoltamp system installed and operational at the founder’s residence.

  • Collected baseline performance data on charge/discharge efficiency, energy throughput, and initial time-of-use (TOU) savings calculations.

  • Validated hardware safety, enclosure design, and BMS communication performance under real operating conditions.

July–September 2025 : Go-to-Market Foundation & Investor Readiness

  • Developed comprehensive pitch deck covering problem, residential market analysis, solution architecture, roadmap, and use of funds.

  • Refined value proposition: ~60% lower installed cost compared to traditional systems and ~60% homeowner bill savings through AI-optimized TOU scheduling.

  • Strengthened residential focus on blackout-prone, high-tariff U.S. regions (Northeast, California, Texas, Florida).

  • Conducted early conversations with potential installation and solar integration partners.

October 2025 : Ecosystem & Supply Chain Development

  • Received continued guidance and warm introductions from Ben Franklin Technology Partners.

  • Met with NextFab Ventures to align on engineering best practices and hard-tech commercialization strategy.

  • Finalized key supplier partnerships for inverters, BMS, and electrical components to ensure long-term reliability and consistent supply chain performance.

  • Began identifying and applying for grant and early-stage non-dilutive funding opportunities to support pre-UL pilot systems (non-saleable units for testing and data gathering).

November 2025 : Community Engagement & MVP Execution

  • Prepared to attend the Wharton Energy & Climate Conference (November 7) to engage with investors, policymakers, and clean-energy innovators.

  • Continued progress on MVP build, integrating finalized technical specifications and performance benchmarks.

  • Initiated internal testing and quality validation plan for MVP assembly.

November–December 2025 : Engineering & Data Readiness

  • Finalized SDK/API integration plan for inverter connectivity, enabling app-level communication and TOU/weather-based optimization.

  • Continued MVP hardware and software development aligned with UL certification standards.

  • Drafted MVP functional testing plan to evaluate system performance in daily-use conditions prior to pilot deployment.

  • Designed pilot deployment framework including traceable data metrics (efficiency, uptime, cost savings, degradation rate) to enable continuous product improvement before UL certification.

Q1 2024 : Brand & Strategic Direction

  • Established company identity under the Revoltamp brand emphasizing cost-efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

  • Defined residential energy storage as the primary entry market (backup power + time-of-use savings), with commercial & industrial (C&I) expansion planned for future phases.

  • Refined messaging and design language for investor, partner, and supplier outreach.

Q2 2024 : Supply Chain & Standards Development

  • Initiated outreach to EV recyclers and OEMs to secure second-life module supply; documented capacity-grading and safety-testing protocols.

  • Finalized preliminary UL 9540/1741/1973/1971 compliance roadmap, test matrix, and supporting documentation structure.

  • Developed early bill of materials (BoM), enclosure design requirements, and vendor qualification criteria.

Q3 2024 : Technical Architecture & Cost Modeling

  • Finalized core system architecture, including EV module building blocks scalable up to ~30 kWh, with a unified 48 V DC bus and split-phase inverter interface.

  • Completed detailed cost-modeling and sensitivity analysis to identify primary cost drivers (modules, inverter, BMS, labor) and cost-reduction levers through volume manufacturing and design simplification.

  • Established performance benchmarks targeting > 90 % round-trip efficiency and > 3,000 cycle life to guide MVP validation.

  • Outlined technical documentation and CAD baseline for prototype fabrication and future UL submission.

Q4 2024 : Prototype Build Preparation

  • Short-listed inverter and BMS suppliers; validated communication protocols and data telemetry requirements for AI-driven scheduling (TOU + weather forecasting).

  • Designed pilot-testing framework and defined customer profile for Northeast U.S. homeowners facing high tariffs and frequent outages.

  • Began procurement planning for prototype hardware and component integration in early 2025.

Aug 2023 : Spark of an Idea Noticed the gap between growing residential energy costs/blackouts and rising volumes of end-of-life EV batteries. Revoltamp’s thesis formed: repurpose EV packs into affordable, modular home ESS.

Oct – Dec 2023 : Early Discovery & Feasibility

  • Mapped the residential ESS landscape (Powerwall/Enphase) and second-life battery ecosystem.

  • Defined first architecture: 48 V modular stack with split-phase inverter and BMS balancing strategy.

  • Drafted initial UL compliance path (UL 9540/1741/1973) and certification dependencies.
